3. Dylan Hotel
📍Eastmoreland Place
At the bars and restaurants in Dublin’s Dylan Hotel you’ll find super-classy cups of cocoa. It’s thick, rich and sumptuous – perfect for a winter day in the city. You’ll be unable to resist it as the smell of chocolate wafts towards you.
4. Urbanity
Picture this: you order a hot chocolate at Urbanity and the waiter hands you a Hazelmountain hot chocolate with peppermint (or without if you’re not keen on it). What could make that better? Well, how about you spike it with salted caramel Baileys.
That sounds like heaven. Not into Bailey’s? They’ll top it up with Mount Gay Rum or Frangelico hazelnut liqueur instead if you’d like. There’s a boozy, or non-boozy option to suit everybody!
5. Le Chocolat de Frèd
📍96 George’s Street Lower, Dún Laoghaire, A96 A0W6
This gorgeous French chocolatiers in Dún Laoghaire serves super-indulgent, rich hot chocolate worthy of Paris itself. Like a lot of French things, it looks pretty simple but has that kinda sophistication that makes it mouthwateringly delicious.

📍30 Drury St, D02 DW66
Three Twenty Ice Cream Lab is known for serving some of the best ice cream in the world but their dairy-focused expertise doesn’t stop there. Their hot chocolate is out-of-the-world good.
Their marshmallow bomb option is the bomb. Atop a cup of delicious hot chocolate sits a deliciously chewy serving of caramelised mallow, softer than your usual marshmallows. Mouthwatering stuff!
7. Insomnia
This year there’s no red velvet hot chocolate at Insomnia, sorry guys. However you can choose between orange or smore options and the latter look pretty special.
It’s made with Belgian chocolate, smores syrup, whipped cream and steamed milk, making it thick and sumptuous. There are even weeny marshmallows on top and chocolate flakes. What more could you want?
8. Butler’s Chocolate
The festive drinks at Butler’s Chocolate are back! You can now grab three different, delicious hot chocolate options.
Choose from Black Forest, coconut red velvet or candycane versions, or just try them all. The flavours really pack and punch and let’s face it, they’re just too cute to resist!
So there you have out top picks for hot chocolate in Dublin. Some are chains with well known specials and others are much smaller, boutique shops. Whichever you choose, we hope it’s as soothing and decadent as it should be this festive season!
