It’s a foodie experience like no other.
Imagine it now. You step inside a restaurant that’s blanketed in darkness, before being served an incredible meal – the flavours of which are completely amplified by your senses. Sounds a lot better than that ping meal you’ve had shoved in the fridge for a good few days, right?
An experience that’s been backed by psychologists as an amplified way to enjoy food in all of its flavour, an enticing new ‘Dining In The Dark’ event is coming to Dublin – with one special date coming soon for Dubliners to take advantage of.
The special experience promises to “elevate your meal to a whole new level”, with darkened surroundings complimented with candlelight leaving just you, your tastebuds and your sense of smell to enjoy a fabulous dish served in a top-secret restaurant that’s yet to be announced. How mysterious! Blindfolds will be provided to all guests (disposable for your safety, of course!), and will help to heighten the senses as you enjoy your meal.
Guests will be led into the darkened environment by a “guide”, who’ll be on hand to make sure you don’t bump into anything on your way in (perfect for clumsy souls like myself), before leaving you to enjoy the heightened experience.
It’s received some rave reviews, too, since kicking off back in the summer for a bit of a UK tour, with previous guests saying:
