What a lovely gesture!
A small Dublin shop has shown wonderful generosity by offering help to struggling families during the Covid-19 pandemic. Since further restrictions have come into place, more people are likely to face challenges in this difficult economic climate. [Featured Image: Dimitry Anikin, Unsplash].
Fitzsimons Family Fishmongers have offered to “do anything they can to help”, as they reached out to Dubliners online. They asked people not to “embarrassed…or let your family go to sleep on an empty stomach” and take up the help they need.

They offered to drop off parcels to their house that no one has to know about to help people get by in these tricky circumstances.
“We are now a solid seven months into this pandemic and the country has officially been put into recession,” they said. “If anyone is not working, not getting paid, has had their hours cut and runs out of food or necessities, or times are just tough – please don’t let you or your kids go to sleep on an empty stomach.
“I will do anything I can to help. It may simply be a case of dropping off a food parcel and leaving. No one has to know.”
According to reports, Dublin is at a high risk of moving to level four of the government’s COVID restrictions as cases continued to rise over the weekend.
This gesture of kindness could really make a difference to families out there. Well done to Fitzsimons Family Fishmongers!
