Since 2020 the pandemic has been getting in the way of Pride celebrations but this year we can look forward to a huge celebration. The Pride parade and march are both back this year on June 25 and the Pride festival will run from June 22-28 so you can expect to see the city buzzing and covered in rainbow flags from today. Here are just a few ways in which you can participate and celebrate your pride during Dublin Pride 2022.
The Pride Parade
On June 25 the Pride Parade will begin at 12 noon in the Garden of Remembrance, making its way down O’Connell Street and then Eden Quay, the Talbot Memorial Bridge, City Quay, Lombard Street and Merrion Square Park. It will reach the Pride Village in Merrion Square Park around 3 pm.
Afterparties
After the Parade, there will be tons and tons of afterparties, with the Mother Dublin block party taking place on June 25 and 26 in Collins Barracks. Prepare for a weekend-long party with drag queens like Victoria Secret and Davina Devine on hand to entertain the crowds. You can buy tickets here.
You can also head to The Grand Social for Delicious on June 25, where the main room, beer garden and lower ballroom will be filled with people dancing and living it up. Tickets are still available and you can buy them on the website.
On the same night, Geared Ireland and Furry Glen will collaborate to bring the kink and bear community a huge nightclub event. It will only cost you €10 on the door but make sure you bring cash and arrive before Fibber Magee’s is full. Alternatively, you can still buy tickets in advance online.
Pride Bottomless Brunch
We’re always up for a bottomless brunch at The Square Ball. After all, alcohol is so pricey in Dublin that €35 for brunch and drinks is an absolute steal! On June 25 you can start the day the right way with the kind of music that makes you want to get up and dance. There are vegan options, including a vegan hot dog, which is the stuff of (my) dreams. You can book a table here.
Pride Boat Party
Also on June 25, you can cruise around aboard a party boat and the proceeds go to charity, to support a marginalised community group in Ireland. There will be a full bar on board and plenty of dance music to keep you entertained for a whole three hours. Grab your tickets here.
The Big Gay Quiz
if you’re up for a quiz on June 24 then head to Wigwam Dublin for The Big Gay Quiz where you’ll have the opportunity to win drink tokens, gig tickets and even a €50 voucher. Plus, it’s bound to be a lot of fun, hosted by some of the funniest drag queens to ever grace Ireland, such as Shaqira Knightly. It’s free entry but your best bet is to book your place, which you can do here.
Every Sunday Wigwam hosts a boozy drag brunch so on June 26 you can head back there to nurse your Dublin Pride 2022 hangover with some food and a bit of hair of the dog.
