According to the World’s Best Cities rankings, Dublin is the nineteenth best city in the world! We’ve beaten tons of world-class cities like Sydney and Toronto.
Obviously, we would argue that we’re the best. That goes without saying, but it’s a massive achievement to come in nineteenth place when only 50 of the world’s best cities were listed.
The top spot went to London, and then Paris and New York came in second and third respectively. Kyiv was named the honourary city of the year.
So what makes Dublin one of the world’s best cities?
Well, the city is increasingly wealthy and has the sixteenth highest GDP per capita. Plus, loads of international companies have their headquarters in Dublin, in part due to low corporate taxes.
It’s also a city with three fantastic, world-class educational institutes: Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and Dublin City University. Although it’s pretty pricey to go out in the city, there are plenty of things to do and you’re never too far from a great pub in Dublin.
Dublin is also one of the safest cities in the world and we all know how friendly Dubliners are! Moreover, the city ranks nineteenth in terms of culture, with a huge variety of shows, plays and other events to attend.
