Wonderful news.
2020 has been a bit of a rough one, to say the least. Particularly during the most recent lockdown in the cold months. [Featured Image: @dublinzoo_official, Instagram].
But, thankfully, some places that put a smile on the faces of lots of folks are making a return in December. And, one of them happens to be the Dublin Zoo safari trail.
As level 5 restrictions finally get eased today, Friday will see the beloved spot reopen its doors to the public. The Phoenix Park spot had previously revealed that the lockdowns had taken their toll on the zoo’s finances. A campaign was launched after they told of their struggles to meet the €500,000 monthly costs.
The Campaign even managed to raise €750,000 in a few days! Plus, the government announced a €1.6m campaign to help zoos and aquariums during the pandemic. Nonetheless, it’s grand to hear that they can welcome visitors back safely again.
“We’re delighted to announce that Dublin Zoo will be reopening the Outdoor Safari Trail this Friday, December 4th,” said Dublin Zoo. “All annual pass and day pass tickets will be available to pre-book online from tomorrow, Tuesday December 1st at 11am.”
“The Outdoor Safari Trail will still follow a one-way route to reinforce social distancing and ensure visitors will have the peace of mind to safely visit Dublin Zoo. We have also enhanced the trail with brand new contactless hand sanitizing units and water refill stations.
“Please note we will be operating at a reduced capacity, and tickets are available on a first-come-first-served basis and must be pre-booked.”
Catch us back on the trail this weekend!
