Yep, yep. This checks out.
We all know that we’re a friendly bunch around these parts, but it’s nice to be recognised for it all the same! Popular site Condé Nast Traveler has named Galway and Dublin as the two friendliest cities in Europe.
You’ll get no argument from us over here at Secret Dublin! The categories that were considered when deciding the rankings included places with “the smiliest, most welcoming people”.
Galway managed to pip Dublin to the top spot, but we’ll take second all day long! Both smiley cities saw off the likes of Edinburgh, Bologna, Lisbon, Athens, Vallete, Reykjavik, Oporto, Helsinki and more to clinch the bragging rights.
Well this probably comes as no surprise to any of you the hail from Dublin. But, if you’re reading this and haven’t visited yet, make sure you come and see for yourself! Once travel is back on track, given it’s all up in the air right now, make sure Dublin is up at the top of your priorities! And, we guess Galway is pretty cool as well…
