Imagine being 2000 feet in the air, looking down upon the beautiful Irish countryside, with a glass of Champagne in your hand…
From €149 per person, Irish Balloon Flights will take you the (very) scenic route in one of their impressive hot air balloons. It ain’t cheap, but it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Ireland in this way.
The balloon becomes airborne in Trim, County Meath. It’s just above the beautiful Trim Castle and what a way it is to start a scenic journey! It’s an hour’s drive to Trim from Dublin and you will be airborne for an hour overall. Hot air balloons are carried by the wind in whatever direction it decides to blow, so there is no telling where you’ll be half an hour into the flight. There’s something really quite beautiful about that.

Once you’re up in the air, the views are amazing. Standing in the basket of a hot air balloon so far from the ground is absolutely mind-blowing and magical. As the wind gently blows the balloon, your direction alters ever so slowly. As a result, you can see clearly the birds in the sky and the dogs playing on the hills.
This beauty was setting up yesterday afternoon as I drove by the Castle Lawn – not something you see every day 🎈 #IrishBalloonFlights #TrimCastle #IrelandsAncientEast pic.twitter.com/aL3tvTWfhC

There are several different options to choose from when booking a flight with Irish Balloon Flights. The cheapest option is to fly on a weekday morning for €149. A more pricey option is to stay overnight in Trim Castle Hotel or the Knightsbrook Hotel. These packages costs €523 for two people, with evening meals included. However, the best option by far is the exclusive VIP option. It’s a whopping €975 for two people and leaves at sunrise. (Perhaps an odd time to drink the included Champagne and eat fancy chocolate, but, really, is there ever a wrong time for Champagne and chocolate?)

Of course, it’s marketed as a romantic experience, but you could always go with your best mates and share a beautiful moment together in the sky. You can read more about it and book tickets over on the Irish Balloon Flights website.
