As the shops in Arnott’s fill with Christmas stock and dig out the fairy lights for the windows, there will be one Arnott’s establishments that won’t be wearing its winter finery this year. Sadly, Joe’s Coffee is closing its doors and there will be plenty of sad faces in Dublin.
The café has already moved from its previous spot to the location we all know now opposite Itsa, but yesterday Joe’s Coffee made the following announcement:
‘It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that Joe’s has closed in @ArnottsDublin on Abbey Street. It has been a wonderful time serving so many of you with our specialty coffee from The Barn – as well as from special guest roasters around the world.’
They also thanked staff and customers:
‘We’d like to thank all our wonderful staff who have worked with Joe’s over the years! What an amazing bunch you have been! So passionate and so dedicated. […] And we’d especially like to thank you, our fabulous customers! For the past 10 years, you have been a joy to serve and we have loved chatting to you about all things coffee.’
Joe’s Coffee was one of the best places to grab a cup of coffee in the area and their toasties really championed Irish cheese like Wicklow Brie and Wicklow Cheddar. They will be sorely missed but we’re holding out hope that sometimes in the future they will reopen somewhere new.
