Pubs And Restaurants Could Be Closed Until ‘Late-May Or June’ If A Level 5 Extension Goes Through

The government have reportedly been considering a level 5 extension.

We could be a long way away from drinking in pubs again if level 5 restrictions get an extension.

As it stands, current restrictions stand until January 31 by law. But, according to The Irish Times, it’s likely this will be put back until late February at next week’s cabinet meeting.

This piece also reports that “it is understood the hospitality sector may not reopen properly until late May or early June.” Previously, it had been hoped for an April reopening, but it seems this is no longer a likely outcome.

This would come as another huge blow to the hospitality industry.
