Looking for things to do this June in Dublin? You’re in the right place because here we have ten unmissable events that will make this month the most exciting one yet!
We’re gearing up for the summer and with the summer comes Pride, tons of fantastic festivals, and a whole host of new openings. There are plenty of experiences to explore so take a look and see what takes your fancy!
1. Visit the new Doll Society Bar
A gorgeous new bar has just opened on Francis Street in Dublin and it’s a neon, glitter-filled paradise! Doll Society launches the first week of June, with tons of pretty-in-pink events like Forbidden Fruit pre-parties on June 3 and 4.
You can expect quality tunes from resident DJ Maria Lawlor. Think hip-hop, house, pop and power ballads. The ceiling is made completely from mirrors and their cocktails are even made in giant disco balls so we’re expecting plenty of glamour and glitz at this place.
There’s a stunning little photo booth for you to snap some pics of you and your mates and tons of neon signs around too, so plenty of photo opportunities. You can book a table here and start looking forward to sipping on a delicious dragon fruit martini!
2. Visit Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience

Experience the artwork of Dutch Golden Age artist Van Gogh in a way you never have before with this incredible immersive exhibition in Dublin. You can literally step into works like ‘Sunflowers’ and ‘Starry Night’ at 360 projections cover the walls, floor, and ceiling in the artwork.
The exhibition over at Artane Place has been extended into June so you still have chance to see it and it truly is unmissable. VR adds another layer to the immersion that the exhibition provides, offering you the chance to see ‘A Day in the Life of the Artist in Arles France’ as if you were there.
It’s fully wheelchair and pram accessible and appropriate for all ages. Tickets are €14.50 per adult and €8.50 per child and you can also opt for VIP tickets which included entry to the VR experience, skip the line, and a poster.

3. Check out Astopia
Since Virgin Mary closed, it’s been difficult to find anywhere that specialises in mocktails. However, there’s a new place in town that’s come to fill that gap: a cyberpunk-inspired Asian-fusion restaurant with a whole mocktail menu.
Astopia serves up the most intricate mocktails, including a mahjong-inspired offering with alcohol-free sweet apple gin and matcha powder. There’s also a butterbeer mocktail with scotch syrup and alcohol-free beer and even an alcohol-free Irish coffee.
On the menu are mini-hotpots, four of which are vegan and plenty more meat-free dishes to try. Check out the delicious bao buns and a whole host of other tapas-style Asian dishes. You’ll find Astopia at 34 Aungier Street and you can book a table on the website.
4. Dublin Pride Parade
Dublin Pride Parade with take place on Saturday, June 24, and it’s set to be spectacular. You can expect to see tons of brightly coloured, creative floats and brightly dressed, creative people.
It starts at 12 pm, departing from the General Post Office and all you need to do is turn up in your finery to see this incredible celebration of Dublin’s LGBTQ+ communities. There will be over 250 groups taking place this year so it’s going to be huge and truly unmissable!
5. Bord Bia Bloom
On June 1-5, Bord Bia Bloom will take over Phoenix Park. It started as a celebration of the country’s horticulture but has grown into much more than that. It’s a place to really soak up some culture, with several stunning show gardens and loads of food and drink producers there to offer expert knowledge.
You can enjoy live cooking tutorials outside in the fresh air and it’s a great way for kids to learn about where their food comes from. Tickets start at €17.80 and you can buy them from the website.
6. Barbie Party
On Friday, June 16, Button Factory will become a veritable Barbie land. Partygoers will be transported to ’80s Malibu and enjoy chart-toppers from the likes of Dua Lipo, Lizzo, and Tame Impala.
There will be plenty of swag and merch on offer too, alongside a Barbie-themed photo booth so you can snap some perfectly pink photographs for Instagram. After all, you’re going to want to mark the occasion once you’re all dressed up in your Barbie-style garb.
You can grab tickets for the event from today onwards here and they’re €8.00 per person plus a booking fee.
7. Candlelight: A Tribute To Rammstein
On June 30, The O’Reilly Theatre will come alive with a candlelit tribute to Rammstein and any metal fans out there need to have this in their calendars. Expect to hear classics like ‘Frühling in Paris’, Sonne, and ‘Ich Will’ played by the talented Castle String Quartet.
They will perform to the flickering light of thousands of candles in what promises to be an unmissable concert. The venue is completely wheelchair-accessible and tickets start at €19.00. Get ready to hear Rammstein in a completely new way at a venue that could not be more perfect.
8. Dublin Summer Flea Market
Dublin Summer Flea Market is back! On Saturday, June 17 you’ll find The Grand Social full of stalls. There will be four areas and over 25 sellers, each with something different on offer.
From music to food, arts, crafts, and fashion – there will be something there to appeal to everybody. Spread out over three floors, this flea market is set to be huge and it’s completely free to attend. To skip the queue on the day, grab yourself some tickets here.
9. Celebrate Bloomsday
Bloomsday is a big deal in Dublin and, in my opinion, for good reason. It’s the day depicted in James Joyce’s Ulysses.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never read the book. After all, it isn’t the easiest piece of literature to digest, you can still celebrate Bloomsday.
People will be dressing up as characters from the novel, which depicts a day in the life is Leopold Bloom as he walks (and stumbles) around Dublin, which is literally what the book is about. Since it’s set in 1904 on June 16, people will be wearing straw boater hats and dresses from the period.
The obvious place to go is the James Joyce Centre but there will also be celebrations at Dalkey Castle and plenty of other places in the city. Just go out into the city and you’ll find it buzzing with Dubliners paying homage to the literary genius of James Joyce (is it too obvious that I’m a fan?). Check out the Bloomsday Festival website to see what’s going on.
10. Dalkey Book Festival
Speaking of literature, the Dalkey Book Festival will take place this year from June 15-18. This festival has received a lot of praise far and wide from authors who have attended and even though it’s small, it’s definitely one of the best things to do this June in Dublin.
The list of speakers attending is mind-blowingly impressive. They’ll have Tom Hanks, Ruby Wax, Bono, Brian Cox, Richard Ford, and many more. You’re going to need to book fast if you want to secure a ticket because this incredible festival sells out very quickly so visit the website to grab yourself some tickets.
