It’s been a bit of a wait, but we finally know where ‘Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience‘ will open in Dublin. The spectacular immersive art show has been a roaring success during stops in London, Bristol, New York, Miami, and more, and it’s finally Dublin’s turn to see the experience that has enchanted thousands of guests. It’s been confirmed that the experience will transform an old warehouse in Artane into a swirling world of colour and imagination in June 2022, as 360-degree projections of Van Gogh’s works bring his art to life. You can find your tickets here, and read on for more info about Van Gogh Dublin and the venue!
The 16,000 square foot warehouse provides an enticing blank canvas upon which the light, colour, and life of the Dutch icon’s paintings will be splashed. Floor-to-ceiling projections of paintings such as Starry Night, Wheatfield with Crows, and Almond Blossoms will delight the senses of all visitors, as you’re encouraged to take a seat and watch the brushstrokes dance before your very eyes. It’s a whole new way to experience art, and we’re willing to be that after a visit here, you’re going to wish every art exhibition was like this…
We’ve heard word from friends in London and Bristol that the exhibition transports you a world away from every day life, and offers a true escape into art. So despite being just twenty minutes from the centre of Dublin by public transport, this experience will have you feeling like you’re in Arles – especially if you take part in the exhibition’s unmissable virtual reality experience. Pop on your VR headset and you’ll be whisked away to the fields, forests, and streets that inspired Van Gogh, on a ten-minute audio-visual journey that’s been described as a must-try.
Elsewhere in the multi-sensory exhibition, kids and adults alike will be able to unleash their artistic talents with a Van Gogh drawing experience. Recreate Van Gogh’s best-loved works, pencil in hand, and then turn them into a digital rendering displayed in gilded screens for the enjoyment of everyone. Maybe it’ll unleash a hidden talent for drawing, who knows?
Those looking to immerse themselves in the stunning creations of Van Gogh better grab tickets sharpish, because they’re selling pretty quickly. Take it from us, this spellbinding exhibit is not one to miss!
