The world’s gone wild for Kate Bush yet again as a new generation of Dubliners have discovered her music through season 4 of Stranger Things. Everyone in the country must have heard ‘Running Up That Hill’ by now but soon Dubliners will have the chance to really immersive themselves in her music as the ‘Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever’ comes to Dublin.
This Saturday (July 30) a group of Kate Bush enthusiasts will gather at Fairview Park to recreate the dance routine from the ‘Wuthering Heights’ video. They’ll all be dressed in red, floaty clothing just as Kate Bush is in the original video.
Ordinarily, this event is an annual affair but due to the pandemic, this is the first time it will have taken place in three years and you can participate too. So, what can we expect at the ‘Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever’?
Well, there will be time for rehearsal and dance instructors on hand to help get everybody coordinated before the dance is filmed. So, you should expect your face to be on camera. All genders are welcome – it’s a truly inclusive event.
There will be a picnic so attendees will need to bring some snacks but this is a sober event so leave the booze until afterwards if you’re planning on drinking this weekend. It costs €5 to register and as the event is completely volunteer-run all of the money left over after costs will be donated to Women’s Aid.
