Right in the centre of Ireland is the beautiful town of Athlone. The lovely Shannon River runs through the west of the town and from the water you can really admire this stunning part of Ireland. You could, of course, take a boat, but the alternative seems far more appealing because you can now board a floating hot tub and relax as the sights unfold before you!
All you have to do is book your spot via the website, bring some swimwear and a towel and then board the boat where you’ll find the floating hot tub waiting for you. Strings of lights illuminate a canopy above, keeping any rain away (because you wouldn’t want the water to get cold), and a fully equipped sound system makes the journey even more enjoyable.
The floating hot tub sails along Lough Ree, offering views of Wineport Lodge, Glasson Lakehouse and the beautiful wildlife that flocks to the water. If you’d like to customise your route then you could incorporate views of St. Peter and Paul’s Church too, and even Sean’s Bar, which is Ireland’s Oldest Pub.
It’s BYOB on board but they do provide coolers so you can drink a nice cold wine or beer whilst you stay toasty in the floating hot tub and the sunset cruises add that extra bit of romance. The hot tub will accommodate between two and six people and prices start at €180 per tour, so if you split it between 6 you can have this experience for €30 per person, which sounds like an absolute bargain.
For €180 you’ll have 75 minutes onboard the floating hot tub but you can pay a little more and have 90 minutes. Take a look at the website to see more details on pricing and departure points.
