Dublin’s Zoo’s Wild Lights just reopened to the public and already people are pouring in to see the spectacular light art on the trail. From coral reefs to magnificent birds of pray, a dizzying array of species are represented this year and it’s truly unmissable.
In total, there are over a thousand lanterns on display, and as they glow on a dark autumn night in Dublin they illuminate the zoo in the most magical fashion. You can see this incredible display between October 28, 2022 – January 9, 2023 so there’s plenty of time to bag yourself some tickets.
The entrance fee to Wild Lights is €23 per adult and €17 per child, with kids under 3 going free, and it’s not included in general admittance to the zoo. Sessions run between 5 pm and 9 pm, so you can easily make your way around before the kids’ bedtime and have them go to sleep dreaming of the lights.
Wild Lights is particularly fantastic because this time of year the animals are mostly in their enclosure due to the cold on an evening, so for Dublin Zoo enthusiasts Wild Lights offers an alternative, enchanting experience.
Expect to see lanterns featuring wildlife from across the globe, those that live on land and those whose home lies under the sea. The whole display is captivating for everybody, whether they’re 2 or 92, and it helps to demonstrate how incredible the world’s wildlife is, with the aim of inspiring us to protect it.
