Last year most of the Christmas markets were cancelled but Dublin Castle Christmas Market opened with a few adjustments. It’s a staple for many a Dubliner during the festive period and this year it’s returning for the fourth year!
When does it open?
The Christmas market will open from December 8-21 2022 and it’s completely free to attend but you have to book a ticket in advance. Once tickets become available you’ll be able to book your spot here.
What to expect this year.
Performances from choirs, both Irish and English-speaking are scheduled, which will add that extra sparkle to your visit. The entrance will again be lined by twinkling Christmas lights which makes the whole thing magical.
You can also expect plenty of delicious food and drink. Ordinarily there are quite a few stalls, serving a variety of foods, from burgers to churros and cannoli.
There are generally about 30 stalls every year at Dublin Castle Christmas Market, so it’s not huge but instead rather cosy. You can make your way around easily and not feel like you’ve missed out on any stalls.
Of course, food stalls are not the only stalls. You’ll find tons of lovely little gifts here. Ordinarily, there are plenty of Irish crafts on offer, from glasswork to jewelry and even woodwork.
