Bring on June 7.
It’s really going to be magical time, isn’t it? When the doors to our favourite pubs across Ireland open once again, for the first time this year, no less.
Excitement is building, with June 7 soaring towards us. As long as all goes to plan, that’s when we’ll get to sip on a draught beer outside in an outside seat.
And, as if we didn’t need anything to make us MORE excited, Guinness have only gone and made an advert in anticipation of the grand reopening. Spoiler: it’s bloomin’ excellent.
The ad features items that you probably just see around the house, or out and about – bins, doors, washing, newspapers, cats… you know the usual. Only, they bear a great resemblance to the iconic colours of the creamy stout we all know and love. Plus, in the background is a rendition of “Always On My Mind” by Jack Savoretti, which is bound to catch us all in the feels.
They end on the message “good things come to those who wait”. We’ve certainly waited a bloody long time and, yeah, we know it’s probably going to be an incredible return. So, they’re pretty much spot on there.
They also let viewers know that the world-famous brand has pledged £30million to support pubs. Fingers crossed that, come June 7, we’ll all be drinking outside one.
