Last week an incredible new ramen restaurant opened on the Charlotte Way in Dublin with a menu that will make your mouth water just from reading it. Nomo Ramen is the brainchild of head chef Kevin who found the perfect ramen on both the East and West coasts of the United States.
Japanese food has long been popular in both New York and California where ramen has been enjoyed for many many generations by both the Japanese diaspora and people of other cultures and backgrounds alike. America is a vibrant patchwork of different cultures and cuisines and influences from other areas in the world have combined to make the kind of ramen that’s enjoyed over there today.
The ramen at Nomo Ramen has a tori paitan style broth as the base. This delicious, creamy chicken broth creates the most incredible, warming comfort food when combined with other ingredients such as marinated eggs, braised pork, leek, chili oil and tasty noodles.
However, it’s not all about the meat as you can also enjoy a wonderful bowl of vegan ramen with a vegan broth at Nomo Ramen. Instead of using pork as the protein, the vegan bowl has tasty tofu and tomatoes. The menu will change during the year though, and we’re excited to see what the summer will bring!
As it stands, the menu is simple, yet incredibly tempting and vibrant. You don’t have to trawl through a five-page menu here because there are only two ramen dishes and four starters to choose from, and we like it that way. This way the kitchen can focus on delivering bold flavours and amazing dishes every single time.
You can pair your ramen with some tasty, crispy chicken wings, crispy mushrooms with hoisin mayo, marinated pork buns, or chicken gyozas and either a soft drink or a beer. Since this incredible place opened to the public on April 5 it’s adapted quickly to customers’ needs and we can only see it improving even further in the future.
